Problem with Tools Menu

I have a really annoying problem with Word. Everytime I click on the Tools
menu, Word locks up and dies. The menu options do not even appear. Words
just locks up. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Office. I'm running Office
2002 on XP Home Edition. Anyone ever have a similar problem?? Thanks!

Hi Mark,

If you start Word in Office safe mode (hold ctrl key when clicking the icon to start Word) do you still have the problem? If so
then it may be a corrupted registry key.

Also cleanup the abandoned temporary files that may be lying about using
Start=>Search and the file name string of

~$*.*;*.tmp
