Problems converting to PDF

I have made a table of contents in word, but when i
convert it to a pdf, the heading linnks no longer work.
Why?

justin,

go to Tools>Macro>Macros. In the "Macros in:" dropdown, select
PDFMaker.dot. Click on the "DoPrefsForm" macro and click Run. Click the
"Office" tab, make sure "Cross-References & TOC Links" is checked.

I just tried this also, because this was a problem I was
having as well.
Just as a FYI, you should know this too.
I'm on XP and Acrobat 5.0. Apparently I needed to
download an update from Acrobat of the 5.05 update,
because I couldn't find the pdfmaker.dot file in the
Acrobat subfolder.
Thanks for the help though. I wouldn't have gone on this
trail without reading your response

I 've learned that only Acrobat software is capable of preserving links
during conversion.
