Processing Form

How can I specify in code how form fields are to be processed? E.g,
how do I initialize
the list in a drop-down list? How do I calculate default values of
fields based on
other fields, or information from subforms?

I'm familiar with doing these things in Visual Basic, can't figure it
out in FP.
