Product Key Invalid

A colleague at work purchased a new laptop but when she attempts to
enter the key it says it is invalid.
The vendor told her it is MS's problem(?) - real customer service(!).
She has no idea how to contact MS.

Like Johnny 5 says, "Need input". Is she installing Office or was it already
installed? What version of Office? Any specific error message.

Going to microsoft.com and searching for "invalid key" I got the following
