Product Reactivation

D

DS

I have a really old machine with MS Publisher 2003 that
has been activated. I recently bought a brand new machine
and would like to transfer the product to the new machine.

Basically, I'd like to deactivate the product on the old
machine, and reactivate it on the new one.

Can this be done without calling Microsoft Customer
Service? What is the procedure?

If calling Customer Service is required, what is the phone
number?

Thank you.

DS,

Install Publisher 2003 on your new machine. When prompted to activate, do
so. If you get a reply stating that Publisher is already on another machine,
you will also be prompted with the 800# to call to activate. Call them and
let them know you have a new machine. All they request of you is to
uninstall Publisher 2003 from your old machine. They are very friendly at
that number.

Try Internet Activation. If that fails, use the free Phone Activation
option.

System 1 can't be too old if you're running Pub 2003. Unless you did like I
did - reformat and go from Win 98 to Win XP on a 4 year old system. But I
still don't consider this baby "really old".

The system is a Pentium (2?) running at 333MHz, 192MB with
Win98. It takes 30 seconds to open up Publisher document.

I got a good deal from Dell, Dimension 4600 2.8GHz HT 1MB,
800FSB, 512MB, 80GB drive, XP Pro, CDRW, DVD-ROM for
$800. Money worth to spend I think.

I don't want to deal with Win98 anymore. It is so
difficult to attach new devices on it.
