I have a Media Center 2005 PC. I have built in LAN card, but no network.
Use 56k modem to connect to Internet. I have 1 Admin account and 2 Power
User Accounts.
After I install Office and change the connection to Internet to phone line,
I always shut off Fast User Switching since another one of my apps does not
like it. This causes one of the svchost files to remain open after I shut
down my computer. My profile then never reconciles properly. This only
happens after I install Office and turn off Fast User Switching. If I leave
FUS on, this does not happen.
How do I get this fixed so everything shuts down properly, without loading
the MS profile reconciliation tool? I think iOffice is trying to sync some
files at shutdown and obviously since I am not on a network it can't so the
file remains opened. Event log also shows WMI errors attributable to Office.
