ProjDateDiff Calculation

Hello: someone has some inside knowledge about this

Take a look at the above: the first finish is project generated (from duration and start dates); the second is a custom date field created just to contain an imported finish date from xls. The third is a custom number w/ a projdatediff calc to show the difference between the two finish dates. What's up? Why is this showing a difference of one day (6 hr day shown in minutes), when there is no difference?

You can't tell from that data.
You need to set project to display the time as well as the date.
Right now it is the same date as this morning, but of course it is more than
6 hours since I started working.
So, the answer is that there is a difference that you are not seeing.
Also remember that ProjDateDiff uses the project calendar to do it's
calculations so you need to take that into account as well.
