Project 2003 - Changing resource max units does not update assignment units.

Mike Betzler

I swear I posted this yesterday, but I don't see the thread anywhere.

We are in the process of setting a plan for a large project with few
resources. The project plan is mostly set, but there still remains some
discussions and meetings. Things will definitely change, but I've been
trying to keep an up to date MS Project file as the plan develops as we are
very limited on time (technically the project already started).

As we determine the full project scope we're adjusting resource max units.
I revised them in the resource view, not the task view. But the percentages
for the assignment units does not update. I have to delete each revised
resource, then add them back.

How do I get the assignment units to update? Again, with few resources but
a large plan with many, many tasks it is very time consuming to
delete/re-add resources.

Thanks!

You can't get them to update automatically without using some visual basic
and even then,I'm not certain you will like the results.

Sorry.

But you can adjust the resource assignment on multiple tasks at the same
time by selecting all the tasks (drag to select contiguous tasks or
CTRL+click to select individual tasks) Hit F2 to open the task dialog box
and edit the assignments in the resource tab.
