Project 2003 "Work" Calcs in "Task Usage View"

Hi

I am having trouble understanding the summary hours listed in the "task
usage view" in Project 2003.

Each task seems to be added up together as expected, but, then a seemingly
random number is added to this.

I want to see a view of hours work by task, is there an easier way? !

Haven't you any resources assigned to Summaries ?

Tom is right. If you've assigned a resource to a summary task Microsoft
Project comes up with numbers that appear to be random.
