Project "Check points"

Sebastian Cordoba

(Project 2007) Hello Everyone.

One of my PM's told me this: "I need to know what was the %Complete of my
project a month ago" and I don't know how to answer.

Here's is my question for you: is it possible to record the actual values of
one Project for different dates, I mean, some kind of check points or
'photos' of my project's state, so I can say: "2 months ago the finish date
was..." or "A month ago my %complete was..."

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.

Hi

You may save interim start and finish dates for last 10 updates, by saving
start/finish dates as start1/finish1 going upto 10.

Do Tools > tracking > set baseline > set interim plan (copy start/finish to
start1/finish1 etc.). This way you will have data of last 10 updates in
records at any point of time. You have data base columns for start1/finish1
(going upto 10) fields. Also you can create bars for these dates through Bar
styles. So you can also graphically show direct comparison of last 10 updates
with present status as well as baseline data.

I hope it solves your problem

Hi Sebastian ,

You could also just save the file with a suitable name every month. Then
you just have to open it up to get the info you want.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
