Project crash, can't open affected file

I have been working on creating a project file. I ran
into an ODBC error when trying to save the file at some
point, could be a memory issue on my machine, maybe I
lost connection to the server momentarily, who knows.
Now I cannot open the affected file even after manually
checking it in via web access.

The file appears to open, prompts me that I have a
circular reference in the file (oops! typo on my part),
then tries to open the rest of the way and crashes
Project with that "I'm sorry..." error message. The file
becomes checked out under that account and I can't try to
open it again until I manually check it in via Web Access
again.

Anyone have any idea what I can do to recover this file?
I saved it directly to the server (since Project defaults
that way) so I don't have any .mpp file anywhere to work
on. Can I get at the database and fix the circular
reference there? Some tips would be appreciated. Seems
odd that the circular reference would cause such a
dramatic crash, seeing as how Project provides a circular
reference toolbar, but what else could be going on?

Thanks in advance!

Karen
