Project crashes when grouping assignments across projects

I want to see the assignments of resources across multiple projects. I'm
using a resource pool (local to my machine; not networked). On the resource
usage screen, I have a group that is defined as follows:

Group By: Name (field type "Resource")
Then By: Project (field type "Assignment")
Then By: Task Outline Number ("field type "Assignment")

This last line causes Project to crash when I hit OK to leave the group
definition window. This had worked previously, but is now failing. When I
omit the last line, Project doesn't crash (but I don't get as useful
information). I am using Project Standard 2003 (11.1.2004.1707.15) SP1.

Any ideas on how to proceed?
