Project Server 2007 Load Times are Slow

Michael @ BLITZ

Dual 3.0 GHz Xeon Processor
Windows 2003 Std 32-bit
SQL 2005 Standard
4 GB of RAM
boot.ini has the the following to manage the memory /3GB /userva=3008

Often time when I access PWA it's just slow. Takes a long time to load
pages but once I've loaded it MIGHT get faster. This happens regardless if
I'm requesting a lot of data or just simply navigating to PWA using IE 7. If
I open PWA in Project 2007, same deal. Is this just how Project Server is or
am I missing something?

Any ideas?

Hi Michael,

Yiou will find that this may have something to do with the caching settings.
Since PWA is developed in .Net, pages "rebuild" the first time and then are
stored in the cach. You will find after working for a couple of minutes that
it becomes much faster. I would check how your caching is set and would
extend the caching. Once done, you may find it faster after using it for a
couple of minutes.
Hope this will help

Did this ever get resolved? If so then how did you speed it up?

I'm having the same issue. Did you ever get it resolved and if so what did
you have to do?

I have not been able to fix this issue in IE7 however if I run project server
2007 from IE6 it is VERY fast? There must be an issue with how IE7 and
Project server 2007 interact but I have not been able to figure what the
issue is. I keep hoping that the next update for IE7 from Microsoft will fix
the issue but I think I am hoping in vain!

If anyone has a solution to this problem PLEASE HELP!
