project unviewable

I have written a document system that I've been using for several years,
without any problem.
The macros and forms are stored in Normal.dot.
As it becoming quite big and I wanted to add more functins to it, I had the
idea to move it to another template, keeping the normal.dot smaller and more
user specific.
I copied the code to another document, saved it as a .dot file and tried to
load it as a global template.
Suddenly the "project is unviewable" in the VB Editor and no matter what I
do, it can't be viewed.
If I attach it it works fine but then it stays there for the session only
and has to be reloaded everytime I restart Word.
Why is the project locked?

Hi mats,

When you want to edit the code, you need to open the template in an editing
window.

Hi Jonathan and thanks for quick reply but....I don't get it!
If I open VBE (the VB Editor) both templates are there (Normal.dot and my
new DocMacros.dot). Normal works as it should but when I push the + mark on
DocMacros, I'm getting the darn reply, Project Locked - Project is unviewable.
Most menuitems are unavailable and the ones that I can use give me the same
reply.
As it seems to me you can only have one .dot file as a global template and
viewable/editable at a time. Normal.dot has priority thus locking the others?!
Naeh! Seems stupid!
Best regards
Mats

Navigate to your new template in Windows Explorer, Right-click on it. Left-click on "Open". Alt-F11. You should now be able to edit your macros.
