PS07 - Status Manager - how to add the 1st time

In my project, I'm the status mgr as i created the thing.
If i go on vac and want someone else to receive, accept and update my
schedule from Task Updates, how do i do?

I've added the person, who belongs to the Project Mgr Security Group, to the
Resource sheet of my project, but i don't see them listed in the Status Mgr
dropdown list when i've inserted the Status Mgr on the Task Usage view.

I actually did read this before posting....
What was not 100% clear is that you must change the owner field and the
owner field is tied to the drop down list read by the Status Mgr field
One would think that I as the project owner would be able to set up who is
to approve my project tasks before i went away, whether vacation or some
other purpose...

The FAQ essentially says to change the owner so that person can open it up
in Office Project 2007.
One would expect is that the existing Status Manager could set up their own
project so that

You assumption was wrong. I agree that it would be nice if the current PM
could designate his/her replacement Status Manager, but that just isn't how
the system works. Remember that the new PM, even if only temporary, must
open the project and specify him/herself as the Status Manager and then
publish the project. When you return and want to take over the project
again, you must set the Status Manager value back to yourself and publish
the project.
