Pst files – max capacity

I am using Outlook 2003 and need to transfer some folders to Outlook Xp on
another standalone PC.

I have created a new pst file, and chose the compatible with 2002 option.
What is the maximum capacity of such a file – I know it is smaller than 2003
but do not know by how much.

I have a lot of email, contacts and tasks to transfer. I am planning to
copy the folders from the 2003 file to to the 2002 file – is this the best
way?

An ANSI (i.e., Outlook 2002-compatible) PST has a max size of about 1.8 GB

That's the best way, yes, and if you have more data than will fit in one
PST, you can create as many as you need. All versions of Outlook will
handle more than one PST.

Thank you Brian.
I now have discovered that it’s Outlook 2000 I need to transfer to. Is the
max capacity still 1.8 Gb?

For all versions prior to Outlook 2003, yes, 1.8 GB is the max.
