.PST Files

I have created a .pst file in attempting to backup my
critical outlook files. This seems to have wiped out all
my existing outlook data, although I do have the .pst
file remaining. I cannot seem to be able to load it back
to restore my original outlook. How do I do this please?
This is urgent.

Use File > Open > Outlook Data File or Personal Folder File, what version of
Outlook and would you want this pst to become the default again
