PST folders on old hard drive

I just bought a new computor and had the hard drive from my old computor
attached as a 2nd hard drive. The problem is that I cannot retrieve my
contact or old personal files folders from the old hard drive into the newly
installed outlook program. It is working to receive new emails but I need
access to the old information. Please help if you can. Thanks

Expand on "I cannot retrieve my contact or personal folders from the old
hard drive". What happens when you try?

What happened when you tried to open the old PST file(s) via File > Open >
Outlook Data File?

Reason I ask is that you might have received an access denied message. This
could mean that you don't have full control of the file. You can either
adjust the NTFS rights on the second drive or copy the PST file(s) to your
"My Documents" folder on the C: drive and try again.

Where do you get stuck?
Their default location for Windows XP is;
<drive letter old drive>:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
for Windows Vista and Windows 7 it is;
<drive letter old drive>:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

Once found, copy them to where you want them to have on your new disk (make
sure you do not overwrite any existing pst-file in this process) and
reconnect them to Outlook via;
File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...
