pst not recognized by Outlook

Bill

I've tried backing up an Outlook .pst file from Office XP
and they opening it on another computer in Outlook 2000.
I get an error message" Properties for this information
service must be defined prior to use. File <name> is not
a personal folders file. Does anyone know if this is an
XP/2000 compatibility issue, or something else?

Thanks for your help.

Just to clarify, one pst back-up was recognized fine.
Another is not, so it may not be a cross-version issue at
all. I've tried clicking the Read-Only box 'off' but it
makes no difference.
Thanks.

Is the file copied to the hard drive or on a CD? If on a CD, copy it to the
hard drive and then remove the read-only check mark.
