"Publish" problems

Hi,

my ISP recently moved a web site I support to a new server. The site works
correctly but I have all sorts of problems trying to publish new or changed
pages. There are various conflicts. Pages that do not need updating get an
update offered. Pagesthat need updating are not done. I get messages like:

"file filename exists on the destination server but does not exist in the
current web. Would you like FrontPage to remove it from the current web".
But it does exist!

Also, the Publish listing shows the destination site with two copies of many
of the files, although I can inspect the site using WS-FTP and only one copy
exists.

AFAIK I am up to date with updates. I run FP 2002.

Any suggestions as to why these problems occur?

Thanks
Alan Bowie

It seems like your ISP provider did something when they switched
servers or updated their server; something similiar happened to me.
Anyways if you know your local site is correct, then I would republish
and overwrite any files that are in conflict. However, before doing so
be sure you back up your site. You could also take the option of
merging the local and remote sites - this way you could see exactly how
the remote site (your ISP provider) has your site set up on its server
and then take your backed up copy and republish it to the server. If a
possiblility of completly erasing the site on the server exists, then
you could do that too and just re-publish your site.

Hope this helps.
