publish to CD

Is it possible to publish a webpage to CD using Front Page?

I am working on a project and would like it to distribute it on CD where
they can view it like a web site.

I appreciate any help on this.

Thanks,

Gary

I would expect this to be easy. Just publish to a directory on you HDD,
then burn the contents of the directory (& sub dirs) to the CD. You may
want to add an 'autoexec.inf' file so that the browser opens when the CD
is inserted.

Nailing down some of the details:

Can the 'autoexec.inf' file from any CD be simply copied to the new CD?
Can one use the frontpage "publish" function to a CD?

I have used the following quite successfully several times

[autorun]
OPEN=Bin\i386\ShelExec default.htm

This assumes you have placed teh default.htm file in the root directory of
the CDROM, otherwise just modify the path.

No, but it is only a text file with instructions on what to run upon
startup. I'm sure you could 'Google' for the required info.

I don't think so. That is why I suggested publishing to a directory on
your HDD. This would also allow you to added the 'autorun.inf' file
prior to burning the CD.

Please realise that only things that don't need an actual server to run
would work in this situation. ie forms that email the info wouldn't work

Robert, help.

HOW do I place the "default.htm file" in the root directory. Perhaps my
ignorance is even deeper. My CD burner (Nero) permits me to write data or
music CDs. I assume we're talking data CDs. I can copy (up to the limits
of the receiving CD) one or more folders. Must everything necessary to read
the CD be in that folder when I copy it to the CD? If so, how do I
structure that one folder? Can it be a folder with sub-folders and have the
index.html? Is that the root folder in that folder? Perhaps if you would
please start with step one and go through the steps.

Thanks.
