Publisher 2000 ~ Cannot open file

T

Tammy Stuart

I created several documents in Publisher 2000. When I got
a new laptop I of course saved all my data and transferred
it to the new laptop. I then installed the exact same
version of Publisher 2000. When I open files created in
Publisher 2000 I get the following error:

"Publisher cannot open files from a different version."

Since this install came from the exact same CD's what
could be causing this problem?

If the files are marked as read-only, try removing the read-only property.
Have you installed the updates from http://office.microsoft.com/?

Were you ever running Norton on either computer?
