publisher 2000 will not run from computer, only from CD

I have reinstalled Office 2000 a couple of times. I have
also had to reinstall Publisher 2000. I cannot install
Publisher 2000 so that it will run from the computer,
only from the CD. I have tried uninstalling Office CD 2
and reinstalling it. I have tried repair from the
Install menu. I have tried re-install. I have tried
custom install, and selecting "run all from computer." I
have not gotten anything to work yet. Any suggestions?

Mary,

Thank you for the CleanUp Utility suggestion. It did not
work. I also tried it a couple of different times,
removing all microsoft registry info. the second time.
It still acts the same.
