Publisher 2002, I want to print Black & Grey, but it prints only b

I have Publisher 2002. I have an HP 4000 printer. I've created an ad in Publisher.
Some of the text is in grey and the rest in black. When I print, all the text appears in black. So, I tried it in Microsoft Word. When I print from Word, the text appears correct, some grey and the rest in black. So, does this eliminate the conclusion that it's not my driver? Is it a function on Publisher that needs to be enabled or disbaled?
I want to use Publisher instead of Word, because Publisher has more features. Can someone please suggest a simple solutions?

I wouldn't cross the printer driver off my list. Publisher is far more critical on
drivers than any other Office application.
Look on the HP site and see if there is a newer driver.

This surely sounds like a printer driver issue. The following KB doesn't address your specific version of Publisher or printer driver, but is a similar issue that is fixed with a printer driver update in this particular scenario:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;198243&Product=pub2000

You don't mention if you updated your driver, or if you are using the PS or PCL version. The HP website shows 7/03 as the most recent hp 4000 laserjet driver update.
