Publisher 6.0

When I try to open a publisher 2.0 document I get the error message
"publisher can not open a file from a different version"

I also got this message when trying to to open another publisher 6.0
document that was sent to me. The originator of that email resent it to me
three times and I eventually got it open. Unfortunately I have not got a
response form the originator as to what he did to make the 3rd version
openable.
