Publisher cannot open files

hello i try open publisher 2000 from my friend email. i cant open it said
Publisher cannot open files .. and i update office nothing help.. pls help

What is the exact error message you got? Are you sure it is a Pub 2000 file?
Do you have Pub 2000 or newer?
