Office 2007, SP2 Explorer 8

I work with Publisher 2007 in Office 2007 Professionel. Last week I installed
SP2 for Ofiice 2007. After installation I can't open my publisher files
anymore!

From Ed Bennett...
Take a look at the thread 'Cannot open files after installing Office
2007 Service Pack 2' started by Stefan Kratzert. (4/30)

A Microsoft representative has posted in that thread who is investigating this
issue; posting under the name of 'LL3

You are correct. I misread it, not once but several times. Still, it does give
one the instructions on how to uninstall the service pack.

Can someone please explain a couple of things to me:

1) Why, after more than 30 days, has Microsoft not found a fix for this
problem?
2) Why, after more than 30 days, does Microsoft still have the SP2 update
on-line as an important update if they know this problem exists?
3) Does ANYONE know how we can escalate this problem above a bulliten board?

I for one depend on Publisher on a daily basis!!

I completely agree. There was a tech from Microsoft that said he was part of
the Publisher team working on this issue (see the other post entitled 'Cannot
open file after installing Office 2007 SP2'), but he hasn't responded to my
questions or updated the message board since last week. I keep checking back
every day hoping to see some type of resolution or hot fix to this problem,
but nothing so far.

I sent the following email to Microsoft CS just now. Although I don't expect
it to lead to a solution... at least I feel better having ranted.
_______

I downloaded SP2 for Microsoft Office 2007. After the install and rebooting
of my computer, I encountered an error when attempting to use my Microsoft
Publisher Program (WHICH I USE 4-5 TIMES EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR BUSINESS)!!!

The Error: Publisher Cannot Open The File *1100009

I researched the problem on Microsoft Bulletin Board and found this problem
is rampant with other people who have downloaded your SP2 Update and
Microsoft has not addressed the bug or even taken the original update for
SP2, which is causing the problem, within the last 30-days.

Microsoft Bulletin Board with problem described:

http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...&pt=&catlist=&dglist=&ptlist=&exp=&sloc=en-us

Neither I nor anyone else should have to pay money to correct this problem
that is caused by your update.

Please Provide a method to correct this problem NOW!!

_______

I reccomend you all do the same

Has this issue been resolved yet. I am just now experiencing this problem.
Am a VA and use publisher all the time. Now all of a sudden I can not open
any of my old files. What can I do?
