publisher has detected a problem in the file ....

I have been working on a single publisher file. It
contains lots of tabels, a few images and about 10,000
words of text.

System setup: XP, Office 2000, plus Published 2003.

Everything has been fine until this morning. Now every
time I open the a particular file there is a microsoft
information dialog box with the following text

"Publisher has detected a problem in the file you are
trying to open. If you are certain that this file came
from a trusted source and does not contain harmful
information, click ok. If you received this from another
person or machine and are not sure that the contents are
safe, click cancel."

I've clicked OK, saved the file with both a differnet
name as well as the original name but keep getting the
same information box when the file is opened.

Checking the various knowldgbases and users groups has
not provided any obvious resolution to this problem. So I
thought i post this message in the hope that someone has
a possible solution or at least able to shed some light
on the problem.

Now that is interesting.

The current file size is approx 98 Mbytes

I've just saved another version under a different name
and the file size is approx 4Mbytes!

There only things that may be linked are some charts that
where created in Excel and which where selected and then
pasted directly in to the publisher document. But they
have been there since the beginning of the project.

I could do.

but don't know your email address.

I took out the first 20 pages of text and tables and the
problem has gone. So probably something to do with
theses.

I've only really been added text and simple tables.
However, I did inserted a table late yesterday. So could
be related.

I'll have another look and see what I discover.

After sending my last posting I realised that your email
address was avialable!

I tracked down the problem to a small 7x8 table.

I deleted it and the problem vanished!
So I copied it and tried to paste into another file.

The result -- no table.

I copied another table, from the same file, successfully

So my solution has been to delete the table and enter it
again. This has worked. I no longer get the information
dialog box when opening the file.

What was strange was that I could edit the table, move it
about and even print out the page it was on.

Most strange. probably some sort of problem with internal
string/table pointers!

Once again thanks for the offer to have a look at the
file.

regards

Craig
