Publisher won't load

I recently moved my information from a desktop to laptop. Both running XP.
Everything moved over except Publisher 2003. I tried to reload from the CD
onto the laptop and I recieve a "patch install" error.

The laptop in brand new and to my knowledge never had another version of
Publisher loaded onto it.

Specifically what does the error message say?

You receive the "This patch package could not be opened" error message in Office
2003, in Office XP, or in Office 2000

Before posting, I did try the Windows installer clean up as the link below
indicates. However, once installed you are required to select a program --
Publisher is not in the list of available files on my computer. As the
computer is new, it's never been installed.

Do you have other 2003 Office applications? Did you download and install the new
installer?

Yes, I downloaded and installed the new installer. I also un-installed Office
2003 and reinstalled. Still the same patch error for publisher.

I used Publisher almost daily and this is very annoying! I'd love a
solution! <G>
