Publisher97 not allowing me to save new files using XP

Why will Publisher97 not allow me to Save a new publication now I'm using XP?
I've tried uninstalling & re-installing Publisher97, but it doesn't work. The
dialogue box has the 'save selection as file' and 'publisher files boxes
greyed out, and OK does nothing.
