Publishing web to server.

M

Mark Mesarch

Hi,
We create a web on our local computer and use Frontpage to
design the navigation. The root file of our web on the
local computer is index.htm

On the server we have set up a website area and Apply the
Server extensions.

When we publish the web from the local comptuer to the
server we noticed that the root file is now default.htm
on the server. We tried changing that directly on the
server, but we lost all the navigation on the root page.
I can understand that happening.

SO then we started all over again and we changed the
server so the home document would be index.htm and deleted
all the other possiblitites. We publish to the new web
area on the server and still had the same problem as
before.

Any ideas?
Mark

Rename your local web home page to the same name as that required by your host server, run a tools recalculate hyperlinks and
republish

Well, I had problems publishing to the web with FrontPage
Express, and found that using FTP was a lot easier. You
may want to try that.

FP Express is not comparable to FP and does not require the FP SE
FTP will clobber the FP SE if you are using FP
