Rates for Specific Days?

I need to make Saturdays work days and charge time and a half for any work
done on Saturday. Adding these hours as OT hours does not work as it moves
the work to other days. What can I do about this?

AB,
Whether or not an overtime rate is applied should have nothing to do
with the way work hours are spread. What you are seeing is a result of
the default task type: Fixed Units, Effort Driven. In other words for a
given resource assignment level (e.g. 1), duration hours will track
actual work hours. If the resources works fewer hours, duration will
expand to maintain the original estimated work value. Let's say a
resource is scheduled to work 40 hours per week on a task. If he only
works 32 hours Monday through Friday and then makes up with other 8
hours by working Saturday, the task will have the same duration spread
as was originally planned but the cost will reflect the additional cost
of overtime work on Saturday. That's the way it is supposed to work and
that's the way Project is designed to work.

If your resource is being paid more than the standard rate for hours in
excess of the normal work day or week, then that resource is indeed
logging overtime and that's how it should be entered in Project.

The only way to do what you want in Project is to separate out Saturday
work as its own task and then use a different cost rate table to apply
the time and a half rate for work on that day.
