read only mode word document

Hi all
I've strange problem, I can't open document witch has been
saved as read-only mode for secure.I mean I can open doc
when I put password but there is not possible to open as
read only!!! Reinstalation doesn't help, even if I delete
the office key in registry.
Does anyone have idea?
My computer:
Windows2000SP4EN(multiLang)
Office97profPL
Ps.
I supose that problem apper when I uninstalled office97ENG
and I installed office97PL
