Recalculation of tasks based on resource units

Karina

I am managing around 30 project plans where resources will not be working
full time.
So I have tested changing resource unts to 50% and trying this with the 3
possible task types.
What I want to happen is for Project to recalculate the duration of the task
based on the resource available units.
Is this possible?
So a 10day task becomes 20 days if the resource is only available for 50%
units.
Basically plans are in place, with work tracked already, I am putting in
standards for use on future plans, but have to deal with ones in progress
which I have just inherited.
Many thanks

HiKarina ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Yes. It is best done using a split screen so you can see all the
parameters. For details, you might like to have a look at my series on
Microsoft Project in the TechTrax ezine, particularly #5 and 10 on Resource
Assignments, at this site: http://tinyurl.com/2xbhc or this:

(Perhaps you'd care to rate the article before leaving the site, :)
Thanks.)

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
