recall current slide in presentation

I have a slide with an animated single-loop
gif, that I might need to recall during a
talk; Is there anyway to reload/replay the
current slide, without cycling back
1 slide then forward again?

you could make a custom show of the single slide you want
to jump to.
Then use a hyperlink from wherever in your presentation
that jumps to the custom show. Once the custom show
finishes you'll jump back to where you called it from...

Create a blank slide with a zero second slide transition just before that
slide and link back to the blank slide. No one will even notice!
