Recovered document

Version: 2008 Yesterday my computer was restarted and one of the word documents wasn't saved.i can not find that document now.In my Windows XP it would automatically pop up when i would open the Word program, but in Mac it doesn't.I've tried so far to look in File/open.../documents/microsoft user data/Office 2008 autorecovery, but no result....help me please

If the document had never been saved there is nothing to be recovered. In
order for the AutoRecover feature to kick in [Mac or PC] the file must have
been saved at least once. Even then, the feature is not 100% reliable & it
only stores the changes made since the last manual save, it isn't a complete
copy of the document. Also, the AutoRecover files are only temporary files
which are deleted if Word is quit in a normal fashion. They're only
available if the program or the system suffers a critical crash.

If the file had been saved you should also be able to reopen it from the
File> Open Recent menu command, although the saved file may not include the
most recent changes.
