Recurring Task option is grayed out in 2000

Can someone give me a clus as to why my recurring task
option may be grayed out when I am trying to add a task?

This option use to work for me a while back.
I reinstalled Office 200 and all SPs, but I still can not
add a recurring task.

Any ideas?
