I recently started work at a new company and we have a few clients who are
getting the same error. The problem is, when office was installed, someone
failed to mention that they had to activate the product, and they let the 50
days pass without activation. When I go to Help > Activate Product it pulls
up the activation wizard, but the screen is grey with the back and next
buttons greyed out. Of course I've tried reinstallation, and I called
Microsoft tech support and had most of them dumbfounded as well. The only
thing I can think of is when we were installing Office, we installed it off
of the server. By that I mean the office cd was copied to the server so that
we could remotely install office to whatever clients we need to without
having the physical cd.
If anybody has ever had or heard of this problem, please let me know.
