Reduced picture size? - Microsoft Word 2003

I have a problem when inserting a picture into a Microsoft Word 2003
document. The image is allways slightly smaller than the image size. For
example a 5"x7" picture in photoshop when inserted into A Word Document
prints out at 4.8"x6.8"
Any idea on why this happens?
