Reformatted text documents from MS Word

How do you keep the formatting changes (example: underlined text) made to a Word document the same if you copy and paste it as an object into PowerPoint? Changes can be viewed in normal view, but once the slide show begins, the changes are no longer visible.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Changes can be viewed in normal view, but once the slide show begins, the changes are no longer visible." Do you mean that you see the underlines when you paste the text (in normal view), but that they disappear once you start the presentation in show view?
