registering users of an access database

I have almost completed an access database for my office which is going to be
used via the LAN.

In this regard, i am looking for assistance on how to get all users to use a
password to log into the database and also to register all such log-ins for
system audit.

By the way I am using Ms Access 2002

Thx

Do you plan for the database to be used by several users simultaeously?
If so, have you split it into a so-called "front end/back end" (FE/BE)
structure? If not, you have quite a bit more work to do, before you
worry about adding user auditing!

Hello,

Answer - Yes

structure?

Answer - I have done all of this, what I need now is what has to be done to
ensure proper system audit.

You're ready, by the sound of it, to explore the delights of Access user-
level security. It is a complex subject and you should always work on a
copy of your files since it's easy to lock yourself out. Start here:

nt%2fsecfaq.asp>

and there's a step-by-step example on my web site.

User auditing is reasonably straightforward, especially if your users have
their own named accounts within the user-level security. Check out the
'CurrentUser' function.

Good luck.
Keith.

It might be a word wrap problem. Try copying the link into your browser
address box - be sure to get the entire string up to the '.asp' bit at the
end )
