reinstall OneNote trial

Hi,
I have been trying to reinstall OneNote 2003 trial. I get an error message:

"The patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists
and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that
this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."

I checked in the Program Files and no OneNote, then I went to Add and Remove
to check it out and there is a Computer icon (not the Office icon) with
Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, size 150MB and below that is the same icon
with OneNote 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2): ONENOTESP 2, they both have the same
date of 5-7-2006.

Unfortunately, I do not know how to fix it and I am not comfortable running
commands without some direction.

I have a new trial installation download on my desktop also. Both programs
give me the same error message. Help!

I have notes I cannot open and I need them for school.

What is the name of the file you're using to reinstall? Where did you
get it? Can you clear your browser cache and try to download again?

If Add/Remove shows that OneNote is already installed, can you try to
find the OneNote.exe file (somewhere under C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\OFFICE11) and run that? That would confirm that ON is installed
correctly (Even though there may not be a program icon under the Start
Menu).

What happens when you try to uninstall ON from Add/Remobe Programs?

Description: Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 self-sxtracting Installer
Company: Microsoft Corporation
File Version: 11.0.6360.0
Date Created: 5/16/2006 6:37PM
Size: 81.8MB

That's the wierd part, as I stated before there is NO OneNote in Office
anywhere and the only place I find it is in the Add/Remove Program Files, but
it is not installed correctly. It looks like an installer file, not an office
file.
When I try to remove it I get the same error message about the patch.

I saved two paint files, one with the Program Files opened on Office11, and
the other with Add?Remove and the error message when trying to uninstall, if
you want to see them.
