Relationship Diagram Click Through

I have a question regarding the Relationship Diagram and having it click
through. It looks like on the split view and when the diagram is on the
bottom, you have to select multiple tasks to traverse through the schedule by
clicking on the box. However, when you show the relationship diagram on the
top view, you are able to click through the entire schedule. The downside is
you are unable to view the table properly on the bottom view.

Does anyone have a fix for this or a way to get around this?

Hello JPL,

I don't know what you mean by "click through" so I'm not sure I'm on
the right track but try showing the Network Diagram view (Not the
relationship diagram view) in the top pane and add the task sheet view
to the bottom pane.

Whenever you are working with a spilt view, the information shown in
the bottom pane is always just the information for the selected task
or tasks in the top pane.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

JulieS-

Thanks for the quick response. Let me explain what i mean by clicking
through. On the task drivers sheet- you are able to select a task on the
table and it tells you the task driver. You are then able to 'click' on the
task driver on the sheet, and it will jump to the task driver you selected.

I am trying to do the same with the relationship diagram on a split screen
view. I did find out an answer to my question though- you have to select the
tasks on the table on the top you want to 'click through.' It would be nice
for Project to be able to do the same functionality without being able to
select the tasks.

I have uploaded a video on youtube to show an example on a consolidated
schedule:
. Please let me know if
you are unable to view it.

Hi Chris,

I'm glad you were able to work out the answer.

I now understand what you mean by click through thanks to your
description and the video.

As noted, the information in the lower pane of a split window is
always showing details for whatever you have selected in the top pane.
Even when you display the relationship diagram in the upper portion it
is working with selected tasks.

Just an added comment, I noticed you selected only subtasks in your
consolidated project -- make sense as the project summary tasks
shouldn't have successors. You may try temporarily turning off the
display of summary tasks and then just clicking the Task Name column
heading. That should speed up selecting all subtasks for the
click-through.
