Reloading Office 2000

I've had to replace my hard drive on my home computer and reload Windows
2000, followed by the copy of Office 2000 that I bought with the computer.
The thing is, when I key in the product code from the jewel case package with
the 2 CDs, it tells me that I don't have the correct product code - and what
I typed matches what's on the pacakge. Any advice on how to resolve this
problem and get Office 2000 back and running on my computer? It was bad
enough when the computer cratered, I don't need this aggravation.
