Removal of email addresses during suggestion

When you start typing an email address in the To: text
box, suggestions for email addresses pop up. Most of
them are old and don't exist anymore so I'd like to
delete them. How can I do this, anybody?

Select the name and press Delete.

when the address appears you can highlight it and right
click delete
