Removing of after decimal values in resource usage view

Hi
In the resource usage view. Resource of type material distribution is
seen in decimals over a time scale. For example I have a material resource
called 8M/200kg PSC pole and the unit is in nos. Considering the task
duration the work is distributed as 20.12,20.22....... nos which appears to
be illogical. As a pole could not be in decimals like 0.1 pole. How to change
the work quantity in whole numbers only (correcting to nearest decimal).

Sharief,
I have no idea what a PSC pole is, so I don't have a good understanding
of exactly what you are trying to do. However, Project will linearly
spread resources over the duration because it doesn't know that PSC
poles must be whole numbers. You have a couple of options. First, adjust
the duration such that the work breaks into integer values. Second,
manually edit the assignment so the work has integer values.

Mr.John,
I am verymuch thankful for the information. Basically the material which I
have indicated is just like street light poles.
Can't I find an option wherein I specify at the assignment level or task
level or parameter setting level whether the work distribution should be in
decimals or not. Just like we have an provision of specifying the digits of
decimals of cost in Tools-option menu.
Sharief,
So what's the big deal if one street light is a couple inches shorter or
taller than another. After all, the purpose is to provide light, not to
measure height..... Just kidding :)

Sorry, there is no such option. As I said, Project spreads the work in a
linear fashion over the duration. The only way to modify that is via the
methods I suggested in my first post.

Are you setting the poles as Material Resources rather than human? I
think you can control this better by making that adjustment.

Thank You Very much Mr.John. I think this requirement will become
everybody's need if we want to take a printout for client approval. The
facility need to incorporated in the new version's atleast.

Your workaround is highly appreciated.
