Hello
I would like to run a report similar to the 'to do list' for specific
resources, so that they can see the tasks that have been allocated to them.
unfortunately I seem to have more then the relevant resource appearing in the
resources list - any ideas?
many thanks

Hello Jackie,

Do you mean that you are seeing additional resources appearing in the
Using Resource drop down list? If you view your resource sheet, are
you seeing the correct resources? My *guess* is that additional
resource were added to your project inadvertently. Usually this is
cause by (mis)typing a resource name and creating a duplicate resource
with a name close to but not matching the original resource. If this
is the case, you'll need to assign the correct resource(s) to the
tasks and then delete the incorrect resources. I also suggest
disabling (uncheck) the "Automatically add new resources and tasks"
option on the General tab of the Tools > Options dialog box.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie, thanks
I am in View/Reports/Assignment/To Do List as I want to distribute a list of
tasks for specific resources. However when I select the 'Show Tasks using
resource A for instance, I get a report that list all tasks for resource A
but I also get resource B in the resources list on the right hand side. I
hope I am explaining it better
Many thanks

Hello Jackie,

Is Resource B assigned to the task along with Resource A? The report
shows the information from the entry table and that table includes the
Resource Names field, including *all* resources assigned to the task.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

ah that explains it then...
is there a report you can run just like the 'to do list' but only for
specific resources, ignoring the other resources assigned to the same task?
many thanks again

Hi Jackie,

Well, not exactly. You could certainly modify the To-Do List report
and base it on another table that doesn't show the Resource Names
field. However, the same task will appear on the reports for
different resources if there is more than one resource assigned. Let
me know if you want to pursue this option and we can get into specific
step-by-step details if you need them.

Bear in mind that the information shown on the To-Do List report is
showing when a *task* is scheduled to begin and end. Particularly in
the case of tasks with several resources assigned, a resource may not
necessarily start and end his/her assignment on the start date of the
task. A resource's assignment may be delayed or the resource may
finish his/her work on the assignment before the task is finished.

Perhaps if you could let us know specifically what you want to keep
from the To-do list report and what you want to omit, we can help
further. Have you looked at the Who Does What report? That report
could be modified to allow you to chose only a single resource as
well.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
