resizing table

i opened an old publisher file in a new installation of pub 2003 and for some reason i cant resize the table....it changes as i drag but then snaps back to where it was!

It depends on what is in the table. There may have been returns in the cells that
prevents re-sizing. If you select the whole table and change the font size, you may
be able to resize it. In any event, the table needs some editing. I've had this
problem opening old files, sometimes it can be daunting if there is a lot of data to
edit.
