Resource allocation change

Greetings,

Will anyone please clarify the strange resource re-allocation below:
1) I have a task
T1, Duration - 1d

2) A resource is then assigned to the task: R1[100%]

3) I track with the "Always track by entering the hours of work done per
time period" option:
First day - 6 hrs. 2 hrs remain;
Second day - I realize that to complete the task, I need 6hrs more, so I
enter: 6 hrs of actual work. As a result, the resource assignment jumps to
(300%).

But I expect the resource allocation to remain 100% since the task's type is
"Fixed Unit". Is my expectation wrong?
