Resource Allocation

What is the easiest way to allocate unequal amounts of work time to multiple
resources assigned to the same task? For example,

A task requires 200 hours
Project Engineer needs to spend 100 hours on the task
Technical Writer needs to spend 75 hours on the task
Manager needs to spend 25 hours on the project

Thanks, in advance, for help!

Hi Elaine,

I am a fan of the split screen view showing the Gantt chart at top and
the Task Form at bottom. (Choose Window > Split from the Gantt chart).

Then in the task form, select the resource name, enter the work. Select
the next resource, enter work. Select the third, enter work. Click on
OK in the Task form to assign all three resource with the work amounts
you specified.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Elaine,

JulieS indeed gave you the easy answer to split the resources on a task.
However, your example makes me wonder if you would benefit from splitting the
task into separate subtasks - one for each resource. And the asnwer to that
question is whether or not you want to track the completion of each
individual's output, or if there are intertask depenendencies (i.e.: the
completion of the project engineer's work signals the start of the tech
wirter's portion).
